Kishiwada Danjiri Hall
Kishiwada Danjiri Hall
A One-of-a-Kind Museum Dedicated to the Danjiri Festival
Kishiwada is famous for the Danjiri Festival! A danjiri is a traditional wooden float, or dashi, used in shrine festivals. During the festival, people pull the floats through the streets, running, walking, and playing traditional instruments. The festival is said to have started as a way to pray for a bountiful harvest of the five main grains in Japan: rice, wheat, beans, millet, and Japanese millet. As a proud tradition, this festival has been passed down for over 300 years. At Kishiwada Danjiri Hall, you can experience the timeless connections, vibrant energy, and passion that keep this festival alive.
