Kansai University & Kishiwada City Project
Contribution to Tourism Promotion
In 2022, Kishiwada City and Kansai University both celebrated their centennial
milestones—100 years since the establishment of the city government and the
university’s elevation to university status. With this in mind, the two
organizations signed a partnership agreement aimed at mutual revitalization and
collaboration. One result of this collaboration is the Inoue Seminar, which is
actively working to promote tourism in Kishiwada City. In 2024, under the project
titled Shin Kishiwada, the seminar is showcasing the city’s charm from the
perspective of university students.
What is Shin-Kishiwada?
The Three “Shin” Concepts
The project is named Shin Kishiwada with the aim of inspiring people
unfamiliar with
the city to feel its new charms and visit through the three Shin (新, 親, 心). 新 (New)
highlights the city’s attractions beyond the Danjiri Festival. 親 (Welcoming)
reflects the approachable and friendly nature of Kishiwada’s residents. 心 (Heart)
embodies the deep sense of loyalty and compassion that defines the people of
Kishiwada.

Website Development
Bringing Kishiwada to the World
In 2023, we published a bilingual tourism brochure in Japanese and English. Building
on that, in 2024, we took on a new challenge by creating a tourism website in both
languages. The website features a digital map showcasing student-recommended tourist
destinations, as well as magazine-style column pages crafted by the students
themselves, offering in-depth introductions to the charm of each spot. Explore the
unique appeal of 27 diverse locations and discover your next travel destination!
Social Media Outreach
Boosting Recognition
Through the official Shin Kishiwada accounts on Instagram and TikTok, we
share the
charm of local businesses and tourist spots that kindly collaborated with us during
our research. By using diverse, trend-conscious images and videos, we aim to convey
the heartfelt dedication of Kishiwada’s people to a wider audience.

Seminar Introduction
What Makes the Inoue Seminar Special?
We are the Inoue Seminar from the Faculty of Foreign Language Studies at Kansai
University! Together with our elegant professor, Noriko Inoue, and a group of unique
and talented members, we engage in community revitalization projects in
collaboration with local governments. Using the language and communication skills
unique to the Faculty of Foreign Language Studies, we uncover and promote Kishiwada
City’s tourism resources through our tourism website and social media platforms. Our
team works cohesively on every aspect—from analyzing local issues and planning, to
conducting interviews with establishments and sharing information. We also
collaborate with corporate partners to further enhance our activities.
